I had a tubal ligation in '98.
My mother is a nurse and constantly reminds me that it isn't fool-proof and goes on about all the women she knows of that had babies after the procedure was done. She says if I'm meant to have another, I will...
That's ALL I would need now!!! AHHHHH!!!!! NOT!!! >8O

The tubal ligation should not affect the pregnancy unless it is an ectopic pregnancy.
Since Fallopian tubes don't grow back together, it looks like the searing process that happens during a tubal ligation did not seal together properly on either end. That means you basically have a slight space between the two parts of the fallopian tubes that doesn't seem to hinder the egg from traveling. That space may have been the reason why you haven't gotten pregnant until recently.
Just remember to stay calm about things, stress doesn't help anyone, especially the baby. The tubal ligation has nothing to do with carrying a healthy baby. Once the egg is fertilized and implants on your uterus, the fallopian tubes tend to just sit back and relax, because their work is done for a while.
You should take a cue from those tubes, and sit back and relax. Be happy you're pregnant, some of us aren't able to be so lucky. :(

I saw an episode on "Baby Story" where a woman delivered a healthy baby after a tubal ligation. Her doctor said "if you have ovaries, you can get pregnant" I have heard plenty of anecdotal evidence of women getting pregnant after a tubal. I even hear there was a couple who had a vasectomy and a tubal and still got pregnant. Life will find a way!

They are a few women on a twin forum I go to that had tubal ligations performed and wound up pregnant later on.
I had a tubal ligation done in 2003 and suspect I had an early miscarriage recently.

The tubal won't affect the pregnancy. Obviously the tubal was not a success. Why didn't you get it checked out when you got pregnant in 06? The fallopian tubes can grow back together if they weren't separated properly. Once you are pregnant, the fallopian tubes aren't involved unless it is a tubal pregnancy. You really ought to discuss this with a doctor.

I don't know of any stories, but my best friend is pregnant right now, about 5 months along. She had tubal done in May of '05, and pregnant in September of '06. Everything looks good with the baby. They are doing numerus Ultrasounds, since she had Tubal, to make sure that everything is going good. Good luck hun!!!!

I have heard of several children born healthy after a tubal and even one to a woman who had no uterus! She had had a partial hysterectomy (still had her ovaries) and kept having pregnancy symptoms but thought it must have been her imagination. Then at four months she went to the doctor and she was pregnant! They had to deliver him early though because there wasn't enough room in her abdomen.

I have a cousin that had a tubal and had some misscarriages after that, but she ended up having a perfectly healthy baby girl. Hope this helps to ease your mind.
