Yes you can if you do not claim yourself as a Republican or Democrat?

But if you file a 1040 EZ, you claim yourself without a dependent. A dependent is another person who depended on you for food and shelter. In a matter of speaking, you are being claimed as head of household without a household, a one man household. lol

Besides, there are no boxes to claim yourself as a dependent.

Well, not exactly. You don't list yourself as a dependent, but as long as you aren't someone else's dependent, you get what's called an exemption for yourself that's deducted off your income before your taxes are calculated. so it works out the same financially - you get the same amount taken off your income, $3300 this year, as you'd get for a dependent.
