If I were to just do crunches and some pushups a few minutes everyday, will I lose any weight? Or at least the chub around my stomach?

No, sorry, that alone won't do it. It would probably tone your abdominal muscles and your upper body but would do nothing to shed any fat. Fat is stored energy, and a few minutes isn't long enough to burn any of it doing anything, especially strength exercises like you described. You'll have to intake less calories and/or burn off more than you have been. No one will see those nicely toned abs and delts under the top layer of fat.

if you want to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you take in. will doing a few crunches and pushups everyday help, not really. it's not going to hurt but you're not going to get the results your looking for. i know you say you "don't have a lot of time to exercise for long periods of time" but you don't have to do it for a long time.
walk whenever possible, take the stairs instead of riding the elevator, cut back on the fast food. these things will help
but in all honesty if you're serious about it you will find the time. all you really need to do is set aside about 20-30 mins 3-5x a week. Get up an hour earlier and make yourself go for a walk/jog for 20-30 mins everyday and that will still leave you plenty of time to shower and get ready. Also if you can get some strength training in that will help too. A good mix of cardio, aerobic, and strength training will get you the results your looking for.
as far as getting rid of the "chub around your stomach" thats just going to take time. working out your abs will help build up the muscles there but unfortnately there's no way to spot reduce. and in general belly fat is the last to go because of the way our bodies are built. hope that helps.

You have to burn more calories than you eat. Doing a few minutes of crunches and a few pushups ain't gonna cut it and I can't believe other posters think people can lose weight like this. You need to cut calories and burn at least 300-500 calories no less than 4-5 times a week.

No you will not lose any weight, you might tone up and that going to take a while by just doing 5 or 10 crunches and some push-ups.

Depends on how much weight you're trying to lose, and if you are dieting/eating right. If you don't have a healthy diet, then brief toning exercises won't help you lose too much weight.
What I would recemmend, IN ADDITION to your toning exercises, is to get your heart pumping fast enough (check online for charts for cardio exercise to find out HOW fast based on ht/wgt) for 30 minutes a day. 30 minutes all at once. That, combined with healthy eating, and your toning exercises will help you lose SOME weight (more if you were able to do full cardiac AND aerobic exercises)....but it should at least help with your muffin top for now ;)

You lose body fat with calorie burning exercises like jogging or cycling, not by doing toning exercises like situps. If you can't work out, then try adding more walking to your daily routine, like walking part of the way home from work or park your car farther away. Maybe you could find a gym near work to go to on lunch breaks. a few minutes a day won't trim off any inches.

You can, but it may take a while. Why don't you try maximizing your time. For example, park a little bit farther and walk in a fast pace to your destination. While shopping at the mall, walk briskly. Run about a mile around the block...should take you less than 15 minutes.

Don't forget about food intake. Eat healthy and plenty of water. Stay away from junk food.

Good luck.

Definately! As long as you stick with the routine of your choice, you will do great. 10-20 minutes of exercise a day is perfectly healthy (any exercise of your choice). Crunches are a great way, because you don't have to do a ton of em all day. Stick with it, and eat right, you'll do great!

It is impossible to "spot reduce" via exercise. When you lose weight it might come from your hips or your arms. You cannot lose weight in one particular spot. Your diet is probably the best way to thin out your waist. Eat lean protein, veggies and fruit.

no u won't. it should be persistent for some time - your heart rate should stay in working mode not less than 30 min, better one hour, not less. even after that it is hard to say whether u will lose weight or not if u re not dieting correctly. (heart rate working mode 60-80% of max rate, 220 - age= max heart rate)
