I'm usually about 97.5 to 97.9.
Because, even when I was really sick as a child, I almost NEVER went above 100. Therefore, I often when to school when I should have ;)
Now, I figure about just about 1 whole degree from what is medically considered normal for me. So high temps for normal people start at about 99.5, and the worry temp would be 102.0? I changed my ranges a little. If I have a temp of about 98.9 and I'm just feeling awful, I consider it one of those baby fevers...hight but not ER high. If I ever get above 100 degrees and can't see my doc or go to a walk in (i.e. middle of the night) its off to the doc I go.
I mean really, temps are not an exact science, and like much of medicine it depends on the person. A "fever" is not a number, but it is the reaction of your body to a certain temperature. You may have a lower body temp, and therefore you react at lower temps. You may react at the temps that are considered "normal" for fevers. Before worrying about whether or not you have something wrong with you based on the thermometer, think if how you feel matches that number.

The "normal" body temp is 98.6 .Temps can fluctuate 1 degree higher or lower ans still remain in normal range. Most would regard a "fever" if the temp was 100.degrees. Take care. SW RNP

The normal temperature of a persons body is 98.6 degrees not 96.6. A temperature is usually over 100 degrees but it varies by person. I run high temperatures so 100.5 or 101 isn't necissarily sick for me.

If you check your temp through out the day it will change.
Some doctors will consider it if you tell them that you normally run low. Others don't. 98.6 is still considered norm.

NO! YOU HAVE A LOW BODY TEMP THAT'S ALL. MOST PEOPLE HAVE A TEMP OF BETWEEN 96 AND 99. IF YOU GO OVER A 100 THEN I WOULD WORRY.
