I am currently a graduate student whose loans are deferred right now and am paying for tuition through loans. Can I write any of these off?

No. you can't write these off unless you made payments on the loans. You can however claim the Lifetime Learning credit which is 20% of your annual tuition.

You can take the Lifetime Learning credit for tuition and fees paid in 2006. Paying them with a loan still counts.
