I don't think GM, Ford, or Chrysler is winning. The UAW certainly isn't winning either. So who does that leave? How about Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Look at their stock prices verses the old Big 3 stock prices. Most of those profits are heading back to Japan, and they are converting it to Yen. With the exchange rate so low on the dollar, they are winning again, with the exchange rate. If we keep buying foreign cars, where will our children and grand children work?????

It's GM, but both have themselves to blame over past greed.
I just read an article that stated the average wage with profit sharing (very little money) for a UAW worker was $27 last year, where Toyota, Honda, and Nissan hear in the States was $30, as each are paying $6000 to $8000 per employee in profit sharing. And the transplants have no unions! Here's an article:
http://www.autospies.com/news/Breaking-the-Bank-UAW-Now-Losing-Pay-Edge-To-Non-Union-Import-Makers-12181/
Union membership in the US is at a historical low at 12% membership, down the past 20 years from 20%. Unions were created due to companies not paying the employess fairly. Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are proving they can be profitable and treat the employees fairly without a middleman. Unions are more protection for the lazy employees. Laws prevent the cruel and unfair treatment that happened 30 to 100 years ago.

furryscott said it all!! I am a gm emp 31 yrs and GM and Ford for some reason will not design vehicles that appeal to people. Chrysler / Dodge with their retro vehicles and big chrome grilles are giving the American public what they want . Same with Harley Davidson and making motorcycles with the retro look from the 40's and 50's and lots of chrome!!!! GM and Ford are building "boring cars and trucks" !!!! It is a known fact that only 10% of the vehicle cost is labor. That is everything from the valve stem to the 505 hp motor in a corvette and that includes all the sensors on it and this figure is from a time when almost all parts were made in the USA,and not China,Mexico.South America and the Oriental countriesalong with free Europe

Sadly, It's General Motors.....Look at Walmart. They opened a store in Canada and the workers went to the government to help organize. Walmarts response? They closed the store rather than let a union in...
GM is in the same position. They can always invoke the "we're losing market share and have to cut jobs" excuse to keep the UAW at bay. What good is a union if none of its members has jobs? Thats's the fine line thats being danced.

It's clearly UAW. Their workers get paid almost $30 an hour for a job that requires no education, no experience, and no actual skills of any kind.
