I don't think Rock, circa 1953 would have taken out Tyson, circa 1984 to 1988 - it would have been the other way round.
What Rocky lacked in size and technique, he made up for in heart. Plus, you have to remember that Tyson and Marciano were about the same height. Tyson had much better technique, a much sturdier chin (Archie Moore stuck Rocky on the deck, and Moore was the smaller man), about an extra 20 or so pounds (The heaviest Marciano ever was was 192 Ibs in 1951), and for me, Tyson was more powerful.
For me, this would be an explosive fight, with A fired up Tyson getting inside early, using his superior technique to block and evade Rocky's bigger Shot. Rocky is willing to try and trade with Tyson - a bit too willing, and ends up ushering his determination and heart to pull himself off the floor a few times, before Tyson knocks him out in the 4th or 5th Round.

I think marciano would knock out tyson. Tyson would not be able to go the distance with Marciano. So I think marciano would get him in the later rounds. I also think Marciano was to tough to be knocked out by Tyson. Would be a great match though.

LOL For real. Mike Tyson weighed 190 pounds when he was 12. He had single digit body fat. He was a man before he was a teenager. The way guys train today and the monster he was it would have been a short fight. Rocky was good but he fought in a dead era in boxing. A lot like what we have right now. Tyson in two rounds is what i got.

Nope. Tyson in his prime was a fighting machine, He could bob & weave and he had good speed. I don't care how much heart/guts marciano had,you can't tell me he could take tysons punishment for 7-9 rounds and wait for tyson to tire out. Be reasonable.

Rocky could take a beating and dish it out, too. Tyson was a tremendous puncher in his prime, but rarely had time to get hit until he fought Buster Douglas. I'd take Rocky only because of the fact that Tyson fought mostly chumps. Then to make it better we could have Howard Cosell as the announcer.

oh come on, how can any of you consider yourselves serious boxing fans and think there's any way marciano could take out mike tyson? i respect you guys and your right to your own opinions, and i know some of my views stretch the rules of logic, but this is absurd. you say mike never fought a good fighter...who'd marciano face? louis had aged to like 50 yrs old and was waaaay past his prime and fighting for money when he ran across rocky; walcott was almost as old a journeyman fighter and still rung his bell; moore stepped up from lt heavy and was almost as old as the others and still rung his bell, as well. now compare those guys to holmes(more dangerous when he met mike than louis was when he met marciano); michael "the jinx" spinks was probably as clever and more crafty and harder to hit than moore when he got obliterated by mike; and, let's not forget razor ruddock who actually had some steam before tyson extinguished it. speaking of weight there's no way a 185 lb rocky could knockout a 215 lb tyson. tyson had a harder chin, faster hands, better defense, a thicker neck and outweighed rock by some 30 lbs...i mean, to think rock would have a chance is taking this rock-love-fest too far. wake up guys, rock may have been tough, but mike would've knocked him on his brockton @$$ back to brockton mass....and there's just no doubt about it!~

Come on now, Mike tyson is and always will be a bum. However, a fantastic fighter none the less, and he wouldve taken rocky in 3 rounds, max. Tyson in his prime wouldve beaten Ali, or any boxer.

Rocco Francis Marchegiano was always up against bigger fighters and was impossible to break. Mike Tyson would have become tired and frustrated, and eventaully he would get caught by a left cross-right uppercut combo that left most opponents looking dead.
