I know the most common one is swelling - as in a build up of fluid. Unless you have to take this steroid for life-saving reasons, I would look at taking something else. My mom was weaned off the drug (and is very happy to be off it) before having my brother.

it can cause problems with your adrenal glands, stomach ulcers, heart failure, glaucoma, weight gain, insomnia just to name a few. It is never a good idea to be on it long term unless you are under supervision of a doctor.

The doctor should not give it to you for very long. There are great risks to the body when taking steroids.

A double chin for starters. I would talk to my doctor about that. Good luck. P.S. It's prednisone and it's a steroid.
