Hi there, I have to say a speech that introduces myself to everyone (age, address, family members, likes and dislikes). I have finished writing it but it sounds very basic and i was looking for formulas or sentences that i could use to jazz it up a bit. Some humor would make it great but even just phrases that could spice it up instead of just saying, Hello, my name is Katie. I'm 14.. I just want to sound a different to everyone else because i know they are going to use the same format as me. Thanks so much!

Stick with what you know and understand at your current level. As a person beginning in Japanese, you shouldn't be trying to go over the top by experimenting with ways of speaking that no one else will understand save perhaps the teacher. You might think you're giving yourself brownie points for doing so, but you just end up sounding worse than you intend to with the rest of the class. Especially if you end up doing things incorrectly (which is very easy when it comes to Japanese).

If you want to go "out of the box" then do a minor sidetrack (example: 本を読むが好き、一蕃好きな本は「Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell」) while still sticking to the requirements, expectations of the class, and not wasting everyone's time. After all, what's the point of presenting something to a class if the majority won't understand it?
