If you want to be nice, you have to tell white lies. Rejection can never be nice. Just tell him you're seeing someone, he'll get the point.

Try this, I did with an ex girlfriend, just a bit differently and it worked with her being like a sister. Never saw her again though.
Your a really nice guy, and because I have so much respect for you that you are just like a brother to me. I feel I could even talk to you about my boyfriends.
If he can't deal with that he will move on. If he wants he can also still be a friend......rrright. But oh well, you get the point?

Ironically, a straight "no" is the kindest way possible. Lines such as "I like you as a friend" or "I just don't feel that way about you" add insult to injury when you turn a guy down.

- Before he can get himself into a situation that could have the chance of hurting him further, make your feelings known to him. Maybe by just saying that you are glad to have him as A FRIEND, and that you hope it continues as such.

Pretend your dating an NBA player with gigantic equipment and millions of dollars. Make sure to slip in there that you don't think you'll ever be satisfied by a regular guy ever again...

Don't worry about it until it happens. You may be worrying unnecessarily. If he does ask you, simply say you'd prefer to have just a friendship.

Guys are slow, especially adolescent ones... I know, I was one. In order for them to "get it" that you don't want a relationship, you have to tear their heart out, let them see it, and then stomp on it while they watch. Sounds cruel, but they just won't go away otherwise... and, OK. That lasts long after adolescence.

I'm sorry, but I am not interested in you that way.
No matter what, rejection hurts. But it is better than agreeing to go out and breaking his heart later.
Oh, and NO MIXED SIGNALS!
