I've noticed most people come here to try to make others feel bad, to make fun of others and to just be mean....Does anyone really want to ask a question about who God is and try to figure out things in the Bible, learn how they can become a Christian, find the best way to further their Christian life?

Wow, do you have some preconceptions.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe people come here to ask thought provoking questions that have nothing to do with learning about Christianity?

Wow so many different ideas about this question. I've only been into the site for about one to two weeks. First thing I notice is that most questions come from sad Christians wondering why no one finds their religion palatable. I find the whole idea of religion & spirituality fascinating. I thought that's why the site was named. It never mentioned that you had to believe in a particular religion. Try to learn about God, Mandy? Well the Bible only tells you about a Jewish God. Why is he so special? Better marketing I suppose. I hope you are just a prankster Embezzler because I have never met a Jew who was not smug. And why not? You believe you are the chosen. No worries there. Smug Christians? Sure, all the fundamentalists. I don't think I've ever mentioned this in other answers but basically all the fundamentalists live in America, and those who don't are American missionaries. Embezzler, your Larry David quote was terrible. Everyone knows that American Jews can afford lobster so I think he was having a little joke. Of course you can't force people to eat lobster when you can't afford it. And,....... and, your people are responsible for both the Old and the New Testament so I hold you personally responsible for making Mandy cry. The least you can do is buy her, (and me) a lobster dinner. Did I mention that I love lobster?. And then there is Abelard poor man, apparently everyone is riding on his back on top of the insults and the cross he bears. And all he's trying to do is learn people about God y'all. He only wants to save y'all, y'hear? So listen up. Accept him or else, coz I got a great big gun. And it aint necessarily for Democrats and terrorists.

I don't come here to make fun of people, like to get others opinions. Interesting to learn about different people beliefs and superstitions. I think there is a higher power, but not like a lot of people believe. I was taught God sit on a golden throne and the streets were paved with gold, now see this is BS. Believed man had an extra rib like it says in the bible but 78 years latter found this is just another lie. So how many more lies in the Bible? Really feel it's # 1 best selling novel ever written by man.

I do. I may ask some seemingly insane questions. But I am generally curious about the answers.

However, I'm not interested in figuring out how to become a Christian. That seems pretty easy - go to chruch. Besides, if I became a christian again, it would be the equivalent of somebody breaking back into jail.

PS: There is more to religiion and spirituality than Christianity

I don't know about others but I've learnt alot ,this section made me realize that how lucky i am to be saved and still a lot of work needs to be done to spread the LIVING WORD of GOD,
Now ,I'm praying for other people more than ever.
I will not give hope and not be offended by the odd remarks,as i know the truth and will try to spread the Living Word of Christ to the very end of my life.
GOD BLESS U.

This section is called "Religion & Spirituality," not "Christianity, the Bible, & God." This may come as a surprise to you, but your religion is not the only one - this section is for the discussion of all religions, past and present, as well as various spiritual teachings. I've learned all about Hinduism, Wicca, even how to make a proper sacrifice to Thor.

Peace!
I was hoping that I could enlighten some people about God and how he works in our lives. It seems to me, however, that this section has other objectives. I think YA wants a free wheeling discussion about religion, spirituality and atheism.
I don't mind having atheists in this section even though this is a Religion and Spirituality Section. I have learned how to ignore and bear their insults. I just don't like atheists who are rude and who butt in to purely religious questions even though they have been asked not to oarticipate.
God bless

As a Jew, I find you Christians so smug, pushing your religion on us. As Seinfeld co-creator Larry David put it "I like lobster, but I don't push lobster on everybody. I'm not going all over the world telling people 'eat lobster, it's the best food ever, try some lobster"
Seafood aside, anyone who isn't a good Christian hates Christians and everyone whp insults here is a spineless bastard who vents without repurcussions, or as I like to call it, human.

Not my intent to make you feel bad with the blunt and traumatic reality of life's atrocious facts but the honesty that secures the concrete foundation of the atheistic outlook is intended as fodder for good not soft soap adhering to the instinctual desires of the human id . Wish you the best in spite of any neurotic beliefs as Sigmund Freud might have called it . You have control over how you feel not the commentators on this YA site.Learn to control yourself if the fray is too heavy for ur constitution.just friendly advise

For starters...no offense, but what could something on Yahoo and the human beings on it be able to tell you that your book and whatnot can't/hasn't already?

I personally come here to defend the attacks on non believers, and to learn about the beliefs of others, not a god that only belongs to one religion. And not just your religion.
