I've had my teeth bleached, using a gel and the little trays. It worked okay, but was kind of a nuisance, and my dentist never gave me enough of the gel to finish the job. It also didn't cost that much, although it has been a long time. I've also (more recently) had the UV treatments on my teeth, and that went a lot faster and worked better. That did cost about $600, and I got 4 touch-up treatments free. I've been very happy with it.

In 2003, I paid $199 for a whitening process called ZOOM! This was in Boston. If you live in a major metropolitan area, there should be plenty of competitive pricing for teeth bleaching. Just check the newspapers for specials. My teeth came out several shades whiter and the difference was very noticeable. I have been able to maintain the light shade by using Crest strips and whitening toothpastes. $600 seems rather high. You check to see if there is a dental hygienist school in your area. Frequently, these schools do bleaching for low fees.

That's the same price my dentist charges. His hygenist quietly told me not to pay that huge price though. She suggested using Crest Whitestrips ($20 at Wal-Mart). My dentist also told me that to save 1/2 the cost, lots of people, including himself, don't bleach the bottoms. You don't show them when you are talking. I didn't notice until he said that but it's true! I ended up buying the Plus White brand at Wal-Mart ($6). You are supposed to use it twice a day for the first two weeks and then once or twice a week after that. I have only been using it since Tuesday night and am beginning to see a difference.

Yep $600.00 is a pretty fair price. It's safe for your teeth. I have already looked into this for my self and will probably go for it in the near future.

Save yourself some money, this bleaching do not last that long, so why pay $600.00 when you can pay $3.00 for the whitening tooth past or strips that work just as well.

The Listerine Whitening Pre-Rinse Mouthwash works really well, but that's for more minor whitening. It still works great though!
