Recently I have had this cough that causes me to stop breathing.

One second im completely fine, but the next moment i could be coughing and i lose the ability to inhale for about 45 seconds.

its really scary because after the cough ends, im sitting thare trying my hardest to gasp for air, and its like im choking on the air itself

i went to the emergency room becasue it happened for times but they couldnt find anything wrong with my lungs and they said i was ok.

As soon as i left the place on my way home, i found myself in the street chooking again not being able to breath. Thank goodness my mother was there to pull me to the side of the street. so i can kneel on the floor to try to catch my breath

since the hospital cant help me. what should i do?
has anyone ever heard of this condition?

sounds to me you need a more in depth work up on your upper air way. The word bronchospasms sound familiar? Other factors may be hay fever like allergies, and a BIG factor, smoking. Either by the patient or second hand smoke can cause you to be irritated, prone to coughing, which can aggravate your bronchus and stimulate more coughing.....good luck....riff

It could be a sickness their is rare coughing sicknesses that people would rather not say oyu have because anyone linked to you even in clases would have to get shots for it...I caught something similiar from some guy in one of my classes never been sick before so the coughing made me pull the muscle on my lungs and i was paralyzed for a while all i could do was feel pain for a few days kinda sucked.... They took 1500 students and made them all get shots before they could continue their education

You need to see a pulmonary specialist who will run some tests to see what is wrong. Please have these tests done.
