Ok so the story goes that "god" created everything? But for what reason? Boredom? To see if he can? Or as some would say..."so we can praise him"?

Wouldn't that be like a single person wanting a kid so that child will "love" them? In that light, wouldn't that make god kinda needy. In fact, if god is all powerful and able to do anything why would he need my praise in the first place? I'd be willing to bet he (or she) is aware of his or her abilities.

A being that can create universes seems to hardly need my validation

Sometimes I feel that we're an experiment. Like rats in a maze because I really don;t see a purpose for us being here. And sometimes I feel like that we were all sitting around in heaven and God came up with a competition and asked for volunteers to participate. The winners eternal life - losers enternal damnation. I believe in God and I know that he exist but sometimes I do question our existence.

It is amazing how mere humans can use smart sounding words to make themselves greater than God. AS IF!! He needs your VALIDATION!
His ways are above your ways and His thinking is above your thinking. You can't see the forest for the trees. How can a speck on a speck in an endless universe dare to question the Creator of all things and assume to know the answers?
If you asked God, He would say "I am that I am". And you would, if you search with all your heart, find an infinite love that would blow your mind and put all of your foolish questions to rest. It is all about love, and this life is a gift. He loved us first, and yes wants us to choose to love Him back.

well, perhaps all things are natural expressions of "God". no matter how beautiful or bazaar, disgusting, violent or incomprehensible everything is "God" expressing some aspect of existence ... of the "I Am". the human need for love and to show love might be simply one of those expressions and humans, being the egotistical species that we are, take our very existence to mean that "God" is as needy as we are, that "God" feels as we feel.. in our self involved bias towards ourselves we fail to understand that "God" is something like infinite and expresses existence in an infinite variety of ways. being and experiencing being humanity is just one minuscule aspect of the entire expression of existing.

anyway ... just some musing because ... really ... no puny human can know.

he made everything out of love and he wants to share this great feeling.it's like having a big birthday cake without no one to share with.. and thus he made us and other living things around us to share that love to one another. to praise him is to give thanks to him who made us out of love. it's like a person giving another a gift without expecting anything in return. he gave us the free will to choose between good and evil.to choose whatever we want to do with our lives. meaning life is a gift we are to choose if we accept it or not. yes, god made commandments and covenants. what are these for? you might think that if he gave the free will then why set rules...he made the these commandments and covenants for those people who are willing to give back the love he gave us back to him. its like that road wherein you choose to abide by the traffic rules or not. there will be short cuts, rough, roads to choose from.. but the final destination still with god if you chose the road signs that leads to him.

it may seem that god being the supreme being is single and lonely like that of your example. it may seem that god is indeed needy that's why he created us. he is powerful and will or can do whatever he wants.he doesn't need your praise he needs your love and loyalty for him.love that to a parent from a son/daughter.also loyalty as of a soldier to his country...

you question is really hard to justify to explain it,it has alot of contradictions..that could arouse blaspemy, sacrelige.. but i have one question for you.. have you ever fallen in love? to have given love unconditionally? if yes.. you will understand what i'm saying to you but if you're answer is no.. then you will not understand what i just have told you...my answer doesn't only apply to roman catholics but to all those religions who believe that there is only one supreme being that made us..God.

Right ... He doesn't need your validation or consent !

He is not a micromanaging puppeteer in the sky calling all the shots. Sorry, dumb idea.

He is at the center of your own conciseness, your being.

Get it ?

He wants to Love us! Yes, he also loves that we love him, but he wants to and does, love us, his creation. He doesn't need your validation, but he loves you regardless of how you feel about him.

Maybe it's not that He wanted someone to love Him, but that He loves us.
