If they ask and you say no - then they must have a warrant unless they have probable cause - then they can.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNDff

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

If there is probable cause for a search (which some parents gave them) the police have a right to search your car.

It is illegal If they didnt have probable cause meaning they werent alerted by a dog or they didnt see anything. They must have probable cause which sometimes can means just having someone say theres something in the car can be enough.

If a cop does not have probable cause to search your car, he will ask to search your car. If you refuse, he still has a chance to get into your car without a warrant. If enough time passes he could get a supervisor to okay a search of a vehicle. The supervisor must be present for this and most likely it will take to long for him to get down there and the cop will let you go, unless he really wants in your car.

Yes they can. However, the law says that they can only do this if there exists a probable cause to do so (ex: the cops are 90% sure that you are a top member of a terrorist organization) and if time is of the essence (ie. it would take too long for a judge to issue the warrant and by the time he/she did, a lot of people would've died).

Without a warrant it's illegal unless they have probable cause.
In California I'm not sure if a complaint suffices as probable cause though.

There isn't much to go on here. the only indication you have provided is that they asked so you must have agreed to the search otherwise they would not have searched the vehicle.
