Scenario:
- my guy friend who i think is starting to have thing for me
- EVERYTIME we see each other, he always has to give me a hug and it's a "side hug" - but he holds me really close to him and gives a squeeze - his cheek is to my cheek and sometimes his hand is either on my lower back or on my shoulder.
- he's a shy boy so he doesn't really like to "hug" that close with alot of people (we're always around alot of people).
guys, what does this side hug mean and why can't he give me a frontal hug?

I am thinking since he is very shy that he is also nervous about showing his true emotions to you. a side hug is more friendly and normally will not lead to anything else but him hugging you. a frontal hug means that you might be able to kiss him and it is more intimate. next time you see him off-guard, run up to him and give him a big frontal hug just to see what happens.

It could mean absolutely nothing- just the way he gives hugs. You could be reading too deeply into it.
Or if you think he's just avoiding hugging you up front, he might think that you don't want him to so he doesn't, or he thinks that maybe the two of you need to be in a relationship before he hugs you.
Just some ideas.

LOL.. i wish you were my dad!! LOL your too funny. Well i dont think its your daughter thats causing it always to be just a 1st date. It could be your gun collection, or the fact that your telling them that your dream would be to get through an anger management class without the cops being called on you. Honestly i dont think there is anything that could be done about these boys being intimidated by you. I think that these boys are too soft for your daughter. Keep up doing what your doing. The man that is supposed to be meant for your daughter will show up one day, and everyday after because nothing scares him, and the things you do entertain him. Good luck..

a hug is a hug take it for what its worth, i hug my guy friends girl friends and girls i like. but i only hug really tight if i love them (and i didnt even notice that till i wrote this thanks for asking the questation!).

means you're a good friend, but not yet a lover... it's a way of showing some affection but not sticking out your neck too far...
