they're forgetful. this guy i like, we'd talk everyday, but i had to call him. then he'd say "ill give u a call back later." and never did. i was so worried that he didnt like me anymore, but i talked to him and he just said that he forgets to call ppl back all the time. now he calls me back almost everytime he says he will.

Guys don't know what else to say. They are not made like women who speak their mind. Men don't come out and say "I'm just not that in to you". If they really are they will be on the phone with you the very next day. They wouldn't be able to keep themselves from getting in touch with you. So girl don't wait for a man to call, have them waiting for you to call them back.

Some guys have the "3 day rule" where they wait to call so they don't look too desperate. Some guys are just busy, they may not get around to it. Otherwise, he's just not that into you. He said he would call to avoid the awkwardness to your face but rather than drag it further from there, knowing its not enough to work out, just leaves what is, as is.

Most of the time they say it just to be friendly. Lets face it, girls do it too.
In the moment of meeting someone new, its exciting and I think they genuinely want to get to know you and want to call, but when one gets back into the same grind, they are just stuck thinking about what they do on a regular basis, that they forget about their "promise to call".
I say, call them once or twice, to say hi, and if they consistently dont call back, or call, then its safe to assume they arent into you, and they arent worth your time.

Guys like to think they have to chase and if they think you'll be sitting by the phone then they wont call as they want to be available

depends on what they think of you. i only did it to be nice. i could only call so much depending if im interested.
i just told a girl id call her today, but dont want to seem desperate so im waiting.
