No! Not your penis, not your choice. Newborns feel pain. There is no legitmate reason for it. Thank you for researching the topic. So many men think they want their boys to look like them, but unless you are going to shave your pubic hair and sit around with ice packs on your crotch (so that your stuff shrinks up) you will NEVER look like your boy until he is far too old to be comparing penises with.

I will say I did answer thus question saying that there wasn't any pain and then watched the video that this girl on here provided, I then hugged my son and cried. But they have found links to men with un-circumcised penises that have a increased risk of penal and prostate cancer and more at risk for STD's.They also say that they can remember the pain, My husband was older when he was circumcised he says he was about 3 or 4 and he doesn't remember pain just the nurses around him and getting ice cream later. So I would say that you should talk to your son's doctor as well as yours about what pro's and con's there are and decide with you wife/girlfriend what you guys think is right.P.S. Not that it's not informative but DON"T watch that movie with your pregnant wife/girlfriend, she will freak out!

You'll hear retarded answers on here that are in support of it. Stupid answers like, "it's cleaner, less risk for STDs, better looking," just a bunch of retarded followers. Do what you feel is best for your child. I was cut when I was an infant, and while it is done and over with, my parents had no right to do such a thing. I wouldn't do it to my son. Who cares if his penis doesn't look just like everyone elses? Face it, parents are too lazy to go the extra step in cleaning it for their baby and use every excuse in the book to support their laziness. Keeping it clean requires....washing it. Don't want STDs, where a condom. Among the most retarded responses you'll see..."it only hurts for a second and then all is forgotten." How about we take these same women and men and cut off a piece of loose skin on their vulva or penis and see how long it takes to stop hurting. Surely it couldn't hurt for days or weeks later as it becomes saturated with urine. People support these babaric practices preached as better by the status quo.
Hopefully more parents will start being just that....parents, by simply researching and forgetting what the brainless mass of sheep are doing. Good luck. Rant off.

I would say absolutely not. My husband is 28 and never had a problem with his being whole. We both agree that people who use the argument about it being easier to take care of are just plain lazy because it doesn't take much. The whole penile cancer thing isn't really a valid argument because there is a slim chance that even an uncircumcised man will get it.

And, the one argument that really gets me is the whole STD issue. There is a nifty invention called a condom and one of the things it helps prevent is the spread of STDs.

FYI: These diseases can be contracted by everyone not just those who are uncut.

So unless you plan on letting your son go days without bathing and tell him to go have sex whenever, where ever, with anyone, without protection, and the sex talk, then there is no reason to have his circumcised.

I almost forgot the locker room issue. Guess what people there isn't one. Really, who do you think is going to get made fun of the kid with the whole penis or the kid that looked and pointed it out to everyone? My guess is going to be on the one who looked. Guys are too afraid of being called gay and other derogatory terms to make fun of another guy's whole penis.

I hate all these people who say it's cleaner to circumcised. You know what? An uncircumcised boy only has like .1% more likely chance of getting an infection. If you bath and care for your children than you won't have a problem. When he gets older, teach him proper hygiene. I did my research before chosing to not circumcise my sons. I read a lot on the subject and asked my pediatrician's opinion.

I would say yes. My husband was from S. America. Because he was not circumcised he didn't want my son circumcised. Although I kept him very clean, he still got an infection under his for-skin that was very painful. An older lady told me the same thing happened to her son, and he told her it was one of the most painful things in his life. I had my first son circumcised, and it heals up pretty fast. I think it's definitely worth doing. It's so much easier for them to take care of themselves when you start teaching them to do their own hygiene. All kids go through a "I don't want to take a shower, or wash my hair" stage. It's usually after they are too big for you to supervise. Better safe then sorry.

That is a question that needs to be answered on what do you belief. It is a personal choice for each parent. I did not have it done to my son because I seen no reasoning in such a practice and i thought it was a unnecessary pain for my child. I had no religious beliefs either way so i opted not to do it.

First off... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy for you!
Now to give you my two cents... I have a son, he is six now and is circumcised. He got it done at the hospital at the age of one day old. When we have taken showers together he notices that we are the same. I have a step son as well and he is four and not circumcised. he notices we are not the same and I can see he is wondering why. As for the feeling story's... lol... its funny how a few of the woman tell you how you lose feeling in the head of the penis. how would they truly know that answerer FIRST hand. I love sex, I am circumcised, and I FEEL GREAT!!! ;) I say do what you are and enjoy your son !!!

Only for religious reasons or where there is a CLEAR medical need. Otherwise it is just an unecessary procedure. If nature had meant the foreskin to be removed then she would have made it fall off!

If you do decide to get the procedure done then make sure that your son has all the pain relief he needs.
