I like this name, but I also like Mary name too !" I'm Mary. I don't think he like my name. Why did he mention he like my name too? When I asked him why he mention my name, he said he was afraid I would feel bad with my name so he just said it to make me feel good about my name. He didn't mean it that he like the name Mary. Was he trying to tell me he likes me so much that he wants a daughter like me or wants a daughter with me because it didn't make sense what he said he's afraid I don't like my name, so he said he likes my name just to make me feel good.

Maybe he just likes the name "Rebecca" and is reasonably cool with "Mary."
If you think he might have meant more than that why don't you ask him about it? It sounds like he likes you and is not adverse to having a relationship of some sort with you. I would build on that.

He is a lot older than you right?
Dont even go there... I think you are over thinking here and letting yourself belive in things that will not happen, if you mentioned does he want a daughter like me, he is obviously older than you, by like, a lot.
You seem to be a very sensitive person and if he knows you well which i expect he does then he knows you would react to little insignificant things like "I like the name rebecca" He was probably so worried you would get upset if he didnt say your name too, he said MARY just to cover all his bases. It doesnt mean he dislikes your name it just means he feels in some way that you would make him feel guilty or bad if he said something that YOU didnt like. He was trying to be nice, nothing more nothing less. Dont think about things until you do crazy, Im sure your young, do something fun, dont procrastinate for heavens sake.
If you have feelings for him that you know arent going to be receiprecated due to age or whatever, distance yourself for a while, or tell him how you fell and see if he feels the same.

He felt that if he didn't mention ur name, you'd be offended. In fact i think he doesn't like the name Mary, so he may have thought u don't like it too.
