I totally understand your point. I am an MS patient. I am afraid to ask for pain medicine now because I always get a lecture about how addicting pain medicine is. That I'm going to want more and more. I really don't understand the addiction to pain medication. I only want pain medicine when something is hurting, what does it do for people that are not hurting that still take pain medicine. But doctors do make you feel 2 inches tall when you tell them you are in pain and they give you ibrupropian.

If you are legitimately in pain, then you should see a pain management specialist. They can and do prescribe narcotics WHEN APPROPRIATE. Just because you are in pain does not mean narcotics are appropriate for you.
