An Old Song... I don't want to share your secrets Or the troubles of your life I just want to share your love tonight It's Coming And It Won't Be Long.... Some people feel you should think just like them I can't be free, I won't climb any fence I just want to fly....to places I want to find me some faces Who're lookin' like me...who want to be free Eve Of Destruction: Think of all the hate there is in Red China Then take a look around to Selma Alabama You may leave here for four day's in space But when you return it's the same old place The pounding drums the pride and disgrace You can bury your dead but don't leave a trace Hate your next door neighbor but don't for get to say grace. Old Man: The sun has left the sky Old man, the birds have flown away And no one came to cry Old man, goodbye Old man goodbye This Old Guitar: This old guitar taught me to sing a love song It showed me how to laugh and how to cry It introduced me to some friends of mine and brightened up some days And it helped me make it through some lonely nights What a friend to have on a cold and lonely night. Rock N Roll Fantasy: There's a guy in my block, he lives for rock He plays records day and night And when he feels down he puts some rock N roll on And it makes him feel alright And when he feels the world is closing in He turns his stereo way up high. Favorite quote: I've always said that pop music is disposable and it is, and that's the fun of pop music. If it wasn't disposable it'd be a pain in the f*ckin' **** Elton John The music is all. People should die for it. People are dying for everything else, so why not he music....Lou Reed Rock n roll is the music that inspired me to play music. There is nothing conceptually better that rock n roll. No group, be it the Beatles, Dylan or the Stones have ever improved on Whole Lotta Shakin' for my money. John Lennon. We were a band who made it very big, that's all. Our best work was never reocorded.John Lennon take care dave

There was once a very wise man and he was getting very old and was about to die. But before he was going to die he wanted to address everyone for one last time. Many people traveled from all around the world to hear what he would say. The time arrived for the man to speak and he arose. At that very moment a bird landed in the windowsill and began to sing. The man looked at the bird and listened to it and he didn't speak. Then the bird stopped singing and flew away. Then the old wise man turned to the audience who had assembled and said "You have just had your last lesson" and sat down.

A pastor, a doctor and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with these guys? We must have been waiting for 15 minutes!" The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such ineptitude!" The pastor said, "Hey, here comes the greens keeper. Let's have a word with him." [dramatic pause] "Hi George, say, what's with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?"

The greens keeper replied, "Oh, yes, that's a group of blind firefighters lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime."

The group was silent for a moment. The pastor said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight."

The doctor said, “Good idea. And I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist buddy and see if there's anything he can do for them."

The engineer said, "Why can't these guys play at night?"

Yup, as a matter of fact I have a few posted on the side of my monitor screen:
1. It is not our condition, but the caliber of our soul, that makes us happy - Voltaire
2. If we always do what we've always done, we'll always get what we've always gotten.
3. Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness - James Thurber
No.2's my fave.

If you're not going to help anyone, at least don't be a bother to them either.

Also, sometimes the greatest words of wisdom come from those who have the least experience, kids are masters of producing these almost unexpected observations and such. Listen to them, they may have something wise to say.

yeah but to live by them seems impossible to me:

“True peace can be experienced only when we stop giving and taking sorrow. In order not to give sorrow we need a clear heart that has no ill feelings and for not taking sorrow we need a big heart that can tolerate and help other souls to get over their weaknesses.”

I speak these words of wisdom, let it be, let it be. The more you know, the more you find you don't know. Beleave 1/10 of what you hear and only half of what you see. Wisdom is nothing more than have being there and done that. Then learing from your mistakes, and others mistakes.

I thoroughly disapprove of duels. I consider them unwise and I know they are dangerous. Also, sinful. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet retired spot and kill him.

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished by how much he'd learned in seven years.”
