I have an international martial arts team that travels once per year to a non-U.S country to compete. Does anyone know of a high quality tournament in the Australia / New Zealand area? Annual tournaments are better as we are planning our 2008 trip. We're off to Italy in 2007. Did London in 2006, Puerto Rico in 2005 (almost outside the US...)

EDIT: We're primarily a karate school, thought we do some kickboxing and MMA, too.

A pretty big one here in Australia is the NAS. National All Styles. As the name suggests, it encompasses all styles of martial arts. It also has quite a few devisions. Empty and weapon forms. No contact and point sparring. It also leads into the WASO, which is the world one.
I'm not too sure what you want to compete in or show but it seems to be a popular one. A general sort of competition with a fixed judging for all styles. The web site is below.

You didn't mention what style you compete in.

I was in the Australian Machado National competition last year and it was very good. If you're involved in Brazilian jiu jitsu then you might consider that?
