Today I volunteered to take a co-worker to the hospital because she really wasn't feeling well.

Upon my return, a fellow co-worker gets obnoxious with me (overly so) over a smaaalll thing and while I tried to remain calm but also felt I had to stand my ground as he is the "diva" of the office. I'm 4-months-new and just got reviewed yesterday. My/his boss just went out on sick leave yesterday and I don't want to go over his head. Did I do the right thing? I'm working in an industry I like and make good $$.

Let this Drama King, have his tantrum, he's feeling threatened by the rookie (you). He's probably made hoards of co-workers quit, but if you don't feed into his messessities, (not misspelled, its a word I invented) then he'll have to find another victim. Hopefully, he'll get his own dramatic-filled self fired, so the rest of you can enjoy your workplace!!

Did you say HE is the DIVA of the office? Ignore him. Since your boss isn't there, he's probably trying to take his place. He's trying to intimidate you. He needs attention!!!!! Don't feed into the BS!!!!!!!

HE is the "Diva" of the office?

That explains it - normally, only women engage in petty power trips at the office. However, since this guy is gay, he acts like a lot of women do - petty, childish and stupid.

Tell him to act like a man, instead of a little girl!!!

Having to take someone to the hospital is not likely to happen again. It sounds like you stood up to him. Pick your battles. This may not be the one to go over someone's head. You like your job. You're making good money. Don't mess it up over someone like this.
