Something old - wear or carry something that used to belong to your mom or your grandmother. Sometimes it's a handkerchief, I wore my mom's original wedding band.
Something new - that's usually covered with the dress.
Something borrowed - wear or carry something borrowed from someone that means something to you. I wore my father's original wedding band (he is deceased). It meant a lot to me, as I felt like he was there.
Something blue - most women wear a blue garter.
As for the sixpence (I always heard - a penny in your shoe for good luck) Tape it on your shoe under the arch, where you won't feel it the whole night!
Good luck

The Saying Goes like this:
Something old, something new something Borrowed, something blue.
The "old" item represents something you are leaving behind or something that is being passed down to you.
The "new" item represents something you are adopting through your marriage or something that is unique to your new union
The "borrowed" item should be symbolic of something you respect or admire about someone or something.
The "blue" item really has no symbolism that we can think of - it simply rhymes with "new." Try to select something hidden and small that only you (and later on, your new hubby!) know about.

Something borrowed, something new, something old and something blue! I think! It doesn't have to come from any one in particular and you DON"T HAVE to have these things it is an old fashioned good luck charm I think, that grandmothers would give to daughters to give to grandaughter's etc... Like your GM would give you something old, and your mom would give you something borrowed and your best friend could give you something blue and your matron of honer could give you something used!!

The poem goes:
Something old, for me it was my dress.
Something new, for me it was a watch my now ex husband had bought me.
Something borrowed, I borrowed a pair of pantyhose from the girl who was one of our witnesses
Something blue, my bra
