When the Chinese drove the Tibetans from their home, they drove Buddhism out into the whole world. Was this bad or good? When the Farmer's son broke his leg reducing the farm's workforce by half, this was very bad indeed, until the next day, the army came through the valley and conscripted every able bodied young man to fight some far-off bloody battle, and then it was very good. To quote Pink Floyd, "So, you think you can tell heaven from hell." Everyone of us is responsible for everyone of us. Right now is your chance to change the world. The pain and suffering that are so relentless are too much to bear; yet we are the only ones here who can do anything about it. That's why it is so beneficial to maintain a positive and loving attitude. It keeps you trying to help and makes you the "hand of god." Become the thing you wish to bring into your life. Be the Good. It is excrutiating when innocents suffer. But it's a self perpetuating pattern with which YOU can interfere. Come on, I'll join you. This may take some time.

He never left.
We did.
I'm not going to bore you with the details of the fall of man. That's past and we are living with the consequences: pain, suffering, evil. We have become a people who need saving from the mistakes of the past and present. Mankind isn't the answer, history and human nature have proven that. Know that there is hope. The very fact that you and anybody else have the ability the ask the question is proof that there is hope. Mankind "left" God at the garden, but you can find Him today. I once thought as you did. I asked "where are you?" too many times. Imagine my surprise when I got an answer. It came from an unlikely source at the time. Jesus. I know you may have heard it all before, but it's true. Jesus answered the question with Himself. If you want to know more get a bible, look in the new testament, and start reading the Gospel of John. It will start you off to knowing the answer.

I beleive God is more hurt by these things than us... I don't beleive in religion, however, I do beleive in God. And I think God hates wars, that God is dissapointed by the response to Katrina, and that he wants those people to know true joys.

HOWEVER: There is a big but in here... I also beleive that he chose to give us free will to make our own desicions. As a result, we make stupid desicions. We have governments that are full of corrupt oil-hungry morons who send people to war, we have cities that knowingly build shotty levees, and a capitalist economy that would rather give Wal-Mart and Exxon as many tax breaks as possible than free health care and homes to those that can't afford them.

These tradgedies are the fault of the corrupted governments we have, the only thing God did was give us the opportunities to make our own desicions. Ghandi said "Be the change you wish to see in the world". Why not try to stop these wars? You can't stop the floods, but you can open your home to the people affected by it... And you can give some releif to the people who suffer. You have a choice to do what you can do, as well.

It is also the fact that the element of good is more in the creation than the element of evil. We all see that there are more people who are healthy than those who are sick. There are more that eat well then those who starve. There are more that live decent life then those who commit crimes. Goodness is the rule and evil is the exception. Virtue is the norm and sin is the aberration. Generally trees bear fruits, the flowers bloom, the winds move smoothly. .

This is a temporary world and every thing here has a time limit. When its times comes it will die, come to an end and finish. Neither the good things of this world are forever, nor the bad things eternal. We are here for a short time and we are being tested. Those who will pass this test they will find an eternal world that is perfect and permanent. Those who will fail this test they shall see the evil consequences of their sins and corruption.

How many times it happens that we are not careful and still we reach safely to our destinations. The way people drive in some cities, it is a miracle that more accidents do not happen and more people do not suffer. Allah says: (Allah) Most Gracious! 2- It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 3- He has created man: 4- He has taught him speech (and Intelligence). 5- The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 6- And the herbs and the trees both (alike) bow in adoration. 7- And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 8- In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 9- So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 10- It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures. (al-Rahman 55:1-10)

Abu Yahya Suhaib bin Sinan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him".

Where is God? With each one of them. All those sufferings have a meaning in life, I would not exchange them for anything in the world. To suffer with God, is not the same as suffering without God. With faith all those sufferings have a meaning, without faith you could commit suicide, because life has no meaning without God.

We are here for an unbelievably short time. We are not here for an impossibly long time before we arrive here and again after we leave. Our suffering is short as our lives. The poor who are made to suffer by the weak minded and selfish are given special consideration in the next life. The little ones are especially well cared for. The innocent are vindicated and the prisoners are freed.

God did not create evil. Just as darkness is the absence of light so is evil the absence of good. Man, by exercising his free will and desiring that which is unbecoming to a creature of God brings evil to this plane. In the next life we will not have this physical body or its suffering. We will live more in the abstract and if we have in our life on earth strived to be closer to God we will live in the light in the next life near God. If we have been slave to our passions, cruel, oppressive and the like, we will suffer the hell of remorse. Pray for the truth and the light.

Bad things happen to good people because of our own imperfections and because we are under the influence of
Satan the Devil.
Satan brought the question up if mankind would be better off without Jehovah tell us how to live.
That was 6,000 years ago, and we still can not live without the guidance and direction from Jehovah.
For those of us who put our faith in him, understand that it is only for a little while longer, and Jehovah will vindicate His Holy Name and rid mankind of Satan and his influence once and for all.

God is all in people's minds, more specifically the brain, probably somewhere between the amygdala and the cerebrum. That is why people can mold their concept of God to explain all the pain, suffering, murder and destruction in the world. I guess it makes people feel better to believe that God has a grand plan for the world than to accept that we have a temporary existence in a world of random tragedy.

Where is God? Allah is a Being separate, above and independent of His creation. When a baby or a child dies, he/she goes to paradise because they are without sin. Allah rewards us for our suffering and our pain....we must have faith and patience and trust in the only god worthy of worship, Allah!

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, and I bear witness Mohammad is is servant and messenger!

Allahu akbar!
(God is great!)

There in their midst. He suffered more than any other on the cross, was rejected by His own people, spat upon, beaten, and murdered. I suffered will not be an excuse, He knows all about being human.
