A better question would be what is their ideal standard, and compare which would cause less problems. Lest pick on the hippies and the puritans for a moment(and yes i will be using stereotypes on this one because it emphasizes my point, i don't actually believe all of them were like this). With the hippies and their free love, everyone would experience lots of short term pleasure, but STD would run wild and probably ruin their lives and kill them early. The puritans would not have much sex at all, let alone free love so any STD that got in would probably die within a generation or two, so in this regard the puritans are better.
Now to find your answer you need to look at all of the atheist philosophies individually and all of the Christian(all of its many denominations) doctrines individually And look at the Ideal the Bible gives, and determine which gives humanity the highest and most enjoyable standard of living.

I think I get what you're trying to ask, but the wording could be better. This is how I would interpret it, but you can let me know if I am wrong.
"Christians believe that we're all born with original sin and require a belief in god to be good people, atheists reject this notion, and believe that we can be good people without a belief in god. Who has the lower opinion of humanity?"
If that is closer to what you were trying to ask, then christians have a lower opinion of humanity, hands down. This is one of the major things that I dislike about the message christianity espouses, it's very anti-human.

nicely i be attentive to that once you're a real christian ,you place assorted cost on existence,on the folk around you, on relatives,provided that's the place Gods values are besides.. i be attentive to a pair Christians do cop out with excuses yet that doesn't make it appropriate .yet i do no longer think of if we've been all honest approximately our lives that anybody human beings ought to declare at present i did no incorrect .and it perhaps a incorrect as low as no longer taking the time to hug a baby that mandatory hugged , or reducing a nook in a job ..or parking in a obtainable cap zone because of the fact we are able to in basic terms be a pair min..yet i be attentive to as we walk a nearer walk each and every day with a heavenly father our experience of right and incorrect grows greater advantageous and convicts us of even the little sins we use to over look..yet i will see the place u come from while u say what you're saying because of the fact there are lots of people who declare to be christian ,yet stay like the devil himself..its a tragic element particularly because of the fact it drives human beings faraway from Christianity..i'm hoping that your view in direction of Christians exchange , i'm hoping sometime that a real christian befriends you and lives the existence they might desire to as an occasion of real Christianity ..

Christians follow a system of beliefs created by semi-nomadic tribes of illiterate goat herders who lived over 2000 years ago and who actually had to appeal to their God for a ruling on whether or not it was OK for them to keep having sex with their sheep.
Christians have no standards. Atheists win.

Christians. The Christian faith writes off all of humanity as depraved and unworthy right out of the gate. Atheists at least give humanity basic credit.

The Catholic Church teaches that man is inherently good, but that human nature has been wounded by the sin of our first parents.
