I recentely had my hair dyed to brown from my natural blonde color. It looked great for about two weeks but now it faded and it looks horrible. I do not know if this is what always happens when you get your hair dyed but I am wondering what to do now. If I want to go back to blonde what do I say? I am definitely going to a different place to get it done. I originally asked for really dark brown and permenant and the hair dresser did not listen!!!!

To those rude people who replied it didn't just fade a little it turned orangeish brown. The stylist said she used a dark toner and it faded more than one shade.

Trust me when I say your not the first one. When you go from blond to brown it will fade away. I'm surprised your hair dresser didn't tell you... You can go back and get free hair dye if it faded instantly, and especially if they didn't listen to you! she/he should have warned you before you spent your money. If your not happy with it and you don't want to go back to that same place because, you don't know how tell that person they suck.. Just go some where else and get it fixed.. you will feel a lot better.. Good luck!!!!!!!

It is very hard to take blond hair to brown. All hair color fades in the first two weeks. It will probably take a few times coloring it before you get a good enough base for it to stay dark brown. Don't blame it on the hairdresser.

To all those people who make the mistake of not knowing the chemistry of hair color...When you go from a light color to a dark one, you have to have all the missing color pigments to get to the dark level you want for the hair color to hold correctly and not fade so quickly...They are called fillers...The hair shaft has to be filled with these pigments before you permenantly color the hair. You probably dont understand what the heck Im talking about..Thats what a hairdressers job is..Go to a reputable one who can consult you and explain before you get corrective color..Dont waste your money with over the counter junk...You only get yourself into trouble over it, then end up going to a shop anyways..End of story.....

go to a different place definitely. tell them exactly what you want and ask to see swatches of different colors so that you can show her the exact colors that you want. usually brown on blond does fade, but it shouldn't be very much different. it should only be maybe one shade at the most.

I'm very sorry to hear that you are forced to being a blonde.
