I live in the suburbs and would like to give the bird something to eat, but I have no idea what I could throw out there that the bird would eat.

any scraps or leftovers.....as horrible as it sounds, even leftover chicken! I am from the south and believe me they'll eat almost anything. But they love any old bread, especially cornbread.

It probably hangs around because of the porch light at night.
I used to have chickens in my backyard, in the city!!!
they ate all the snails and bugs in the yard.

You must have good bugs for it to hang around.

You can buy wild bird feed mix at any Pet Store, or Garden Store.

Peanuts, popcorn, seeds, nuts, grains, cereal.

It's really best to feed it wild bird seed, raw grains, or bird food with sunflower seeds.

I'm sure it would eat bread, Leave the bread out to get stale, and crumble it up and see if it likes it, unsalted, raw sunflower seeds.

I too have a guinea hen it usually eats banana leaf, fig leaf and some other leaf then grains, rice, husk ,etc

they will eat most anything grains bugs worms chicken food
