Why-start a conversation now! When he`s alone, why don`t you sit next to him, and say hi? Then start asking him questions, or even make a joke! Don`t worry, shy guys are usually very kind and sweet, and he`ll probably fall in love with you right away.

If he's shy he won't open up right away. Start a pretty small conversation and then eventually start to ask him about himself, what he's interested in. Make sure you take the time to listen and do not talk over him. Feel comfortable during silent pauses because he may be gathering his thoughts, so give him some time and he will open like a flower.
And finally, compliment him so that he can feel more self assured.
If you guys get along, you'll eventually see his other side, that will not be shy around you :)

Since he is in a couple of your classes you have the perfect opportunity to praise him on a question he answered in class or a project he had done. That will help you slowly break the ice with him.
It also wouldn't hurt to ask him for help on home work assignment. When you do ask him make sure to keep eye contact with him and give him a nice smile.
Good luck !

As hard as it may be, you just have to start it yourself. Start with small talk, like about homework or something. Everyone likes talking, shy people just need to be coaxed into it. I'm sure once you start you can have a perfectly good conversation, be courageous and remember that regret for things you didn't do is much worse than for things you did do.

How about you introduce yourself to him and say "hay I've noticed that your in a couple of my classes, I was just wondering if you want to hand out with me during lunch break". That way you can become friends and he will be comfortable around you and he can come out of his shell. Then from school luch you can progress to outside school like movies, coffee and whatever else. Good luck

Just sit next to him when your not doing anything in class and just start talking. Casual things... "hi" "how have you been lately" you know. Anything like that, just get him to talk to you a little bit. After a while maybe he'll start liking you cause your someone who talks to him? you never know! Good luck!

if he's shy, then if you compliment him or make him feel like u like him, he'll be even more shy cuz he wont know how to act! you should try to talk to him little by little so he feels comfortable with you, and then let him know subtley that u kind alike him. If you can somehow put him in a situation where he can do something nice for you, try that and if he does it, then pursue that! make him feel like ur really grateful! and....yea!!! you guys will fall in love!

since he's in a couple of your classes, talk/ask him something that you think he could answer from one of those classes.like, mayb something was not clear 2 u and u remembered that he was there so mayb he could help u with that. u could start from there and probably go on to other topics so u'll be able to continue talking ot him.
just be subtle about it and the next thing you know u'll be swapping #'s & sms-ing each other.
