i had the same problem when i was using Limewire..try Ares, it's the best.

Limewire is the only good one I know of. Their cousin Frostwire is nearly a carbon copy with far fewer people to share with. I used another one that was unbelievably slow and a couple of others I couldn't figure out how to use.
