What does the word euthanized have to do with beating a dead horse?
Generally when someone uses the term 'beating a dead horse' it is in the same catagory as 'you cannot teach an old dog new tricks'. In other words just a saying.
When someone is beating a dead horse it is useless and you are basically just beating your head against the wall. It may be a problem you are trying to solve or some other event in your life.
No, I do not think the saying will just go away.
