looking for someone who has lived in both cities. I like Madison but have outgrown it and looking for a similar yet bigger place. I hate WI winters, the cold and snow! but i also dislike rain! i dont like the winters moreso though. Looking for comparison in ALL aspects! (i'm a liberal funky hipster nerdy 34 year old girl)

sorry born in Portland moved to cali and came right back when I was 20. Portland girl always and forever. Would never think of living anywhere else and I would never tell anyone to move here, because we're each different. As for your prior question I can't tell you specifics as I don't like the bands that you listed you were in to. Check out

it will give u an idea what's here . . .

Both of these cities have a lot of good qualities for a young person like you- and both have some other issues such as weather.
1. The bottom line is you can make any town or city good depending upon your attitude.
2. How far away from your family or friends are these two cities.
At sometime in your life this will be important. Maybe not at 34 but keep that in mind.

Indie/hipster scene aside, if you don't like rain, you're going to be miserable 9 months out of the year. Natives don't notice it (we don't even carry umbrellas unless we're really dressed up for a special occasion), but it drizzles constantly for days/weeks on end.
