Blue Screen of Death
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Blue Screen of Death (sometimes called "bluescreen", "stop error" or just abbreviated as "BSoD") is a popular name for the screen displayed by Microsoft's Windows operating system when it cannot recover from, or is in danger of being unable to recover from, a system error. There are two Windows error screens that are both referred to as the blue screen of death, with one (Windows NT 4/2000/XP) being significantly more serious than the other (Windows 9x).

Blue Screen of Death
Last modified: Friday, June 13, 2003
Abbreviated BSOD, an error that can appear on computers running in a Windows environment. This includes even the earliest versions of Windows, such as Windows 3.0 and 3.1, and still occurs in later versions such as Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. Jokingly called the blue screen of death because when the error occurs, the screen turns blue, and the computer almost always freezes and requires rebooting.

Better go into Safe Mode and run a full antivirus scan - like now.

Leo, it sounds like you need to get back into your PC box and check your connections to the slave drive as well as the slave drive itself. Also make sure that you mother board and the new drive are compatible.

By the way, what do you mean by (Win2k)? I'm not familiar with the term and I have been working with PC's for over twenty years.

keep pressing f8 when ur pc is turned on. try safe mode. then try a command line. that is where you do chkdisk

www.bootdisk.com i believe it is where you can get boot disks to start ur comptuer from,

if need be, go into the bios, f2 or delete probably during start up, change the boot sequence to boot from cd before hard drive

Is there any operating system on that other hard drive? You will not be able to dual boot with another copy of windows running on the other hard drive.

go to start>run type cmd and press enter. when command prompt appears, go to c:\ assuming you have installed win2k on c:\. Now type chkdsk /r and press enter. Rest assured. when the process completes, it will all be fine
