I've been called brutally honest... is that good or bad?

Just the meaning of the word "brutal" to me says it's a bad thing.
I think there is very rarely a reason to hurt a persons feelings.

Usually bad. Honest is good. Anything "brutal" pretty much means unnecessarily lacking compassion.

It depends on the situation, is not bad to tell the person the reality of things, but sometimes is best if you let the person vent and cry or what ever, then say you are very sorry that is happening to them, and once they are clam down a bit then very gently tell them they are better off because of what ever.... But honesty is best just be gentle about it.... not every one can handle it and you might loose a friendship...

Not to imply that I am DIShonest;
I appreciate a lady who knows these boundaries and tries to stay within the boundaries.
View this ^ as a bowling lane.....
My preference is a lady who stays within the line straight that lines up with and hits the number 1 pin; neither overly-honest nor "raunchy."
I appreciate a lady to voice her opinion (either positive or negative) and explain her perspective.

dont overdo the honesty. like be mean to sum1. like if u went up to a girl and said her haircut was ugly, if she never asked her. but when ppl want ur opinion, b as honest as u can. u just need to know when to cool it with the honesty.
