why does that back end and sides of my tongue become swollen after singing?

I am a really good singer but after singing for a while the back and sides of my adam's apple swell up, any reason for this??

U may be and probably R straining legitimates & tendons. Janice Joplin had the same problem but hers went in to her voice box as well. Hope this helps U.
