If you are a Maryland resident, you will need something that will pass MD inspection. On an older car it costs me an average of $800 to get a car through inspection. With that cost factor, it is really hard to find something for $1000.

go to Ft. Belvior or Ft. Myer or just call and go to the BOSS car sales lots... really nice cars for the prices(500-60,000) private sales. I bought a really nice 98 malibu for 2000 bucks with under 90K miles on it w/ new tires and brakes. the ex-owner was moving to hawaii
