when you say Have you ever been to...? that ever means "alguna vez" but, whatever: lo que sea que; whenever: cada vez que; wherever: en donde sea que; forever: para siempre; however: sin embargo
ever: siempre (I´m not sure)

whatever/whichever when you want to say that it doesn't matter which choice is made would me lo que sea.
you wouldn't use this in the sarcastic sense, "yeah, whatever"

If you use whatever in sarcastic sense, it should be No me importa lo que hagas, ni me interesa...

"lo que sea/el que sea", "Me da igual", "lo que tú digas" are all equivalent to the English usage of "whatever."
