This idea sounds awesome. Using red and black is a very bold and daring statement in a room so using a bit of white to even it out is a good idea.

You should find some images of different shaped guitars. Then put them on clear projector sheets and project it onto your wall. Then simply trace around the image and fill it in with black paint. You could detail the guitars with white paint and a fine paintbrush.

I think you should do 1 wall in white and then paint black music staff lines and notes on it. If you use red, it needs to be a bold and bright red in order to compete with the black. the pages of sheet music could be framed in red and hung on a black wall. 1 wall painted black with a giant red guitar as long as the entire room painted on it would look cool, you could use grey rope for the guitar strings.

Pick a red that looks best on you and use it. You will never look bad in a color that's good 4-U (others may) especially when there's so much of it. Also, think about reversing the colors. Black on Red with accents of white. It's classier look, not so cold not so black and visually opens the room up some or are you going for the "Dark" look? Best wishes, K.
