My cousin and I are the best of friends. He and I would go out and do a lot of things together. Well, he has been seening this girl for a few months (which I think is great for him). We would still go out and I have gotten to know her a little. All of a sudden he has been blowing me off. I know that his girlfriend is going to take some priority in his life. But the past two times we had planned to go out they stood me up. The last time really upset me because he told me he was on the way and never showed up. I talked to one of our other cousins and he told her that the reason he stood us up was because his girlfriend thinks I don't like her. Which is completely untrue. I am so upset because he hasn't called or even asked me how I feel. I tried calling him to talk about it, but he didn't answer and hasn't returned my call. How should I handle this situation, he is my bestfriend. (I just don't understand)

Call, be friendly. Invite them over. Call and talk to HER. The only way to dispel the false impression is to kill her with kindness. That way you make a new friend and get to keep the close relationship with your cousin at the same time. Make the extra effort to get close to her, and you will remain close to him. If you force him to choose, he will choose her.

If he has told other relatives that his girlfriend thinks you don't like her, well, then just let it be. If you go and ask them to go out, then it would seem as though you are being pushy. Time will tell. There's no knowing where the relationship is going anyway. Just play it cool and keep in touch even though he doesn't return your calls. The case may be that she's always around and he doesn't get a chance to call you. Also, it's a new relationship too, very time consuming.

It might be that your cousins girlfriend is a little threatened by your relationship with him. It sounds like you are close to him and he probably expects you to understand why his time with you has changed since meeting her. Just be patient, and don't complain to him (or other family members) but instead make the last thing you say to him be, that you miss him, and hope that he and his girlfriend can make time to spend with you. In other words, don't make him choose. If he really values your relationship he will speak highly of you to the girlfriend and she may be more open to having a relationship with you too.

He is putting some bimbo before family. Sad sad. You need to kick his butt all the way to the moon.

You should just explain to him the whole situation calmly and tell him how you really feel.

If he's your best friend, I'm sure he'll understand.

Leave it alone. If this relationship does not work out, you'll be the first one he comes running to.
