As Colorado Mrs. said, salt/sodium is a big part of it. So is fat--most fast foods are extraordinarily fatty. They also tend to be high in protein, and protein satisfies hunger. A nice home-cooked meal that isn't loaded with sodium & fat, and includes fresh fruits & vegetables that are low in protein, doesn't have the satiating effect that a #3 meal from McDonald's has. At least, not at first. The body can be trained to be satisfied with healthy foods, but it's not an easy transition!

a home cooked meal is always best But now days Americans can not make home cooked meals because of the time factor No one has time any more for family meals and thats why fast foods win cause of the convience of them.
I try to cook a nice home cooked meal every nite. I think its important u can talk about you day .

I disagree. Fast food is a last resort for me. I only eat if I'm starving and have no choice. Or I'm so tired i don't feel like cooking. Even then..sometimes I'll just go with out instead of eating fast food.

The only thing fast food does better is . . . french fries . . .
The rest of it sucks and only the desperate eat it, those with no time or $$ for a good restaurant nor time to cook themselves . . .
OK, fast food wins the FAST race . . .
Taste it BOMBS at . . . eyuckkkkkk

Because with fast food, they are doing things that you don't know about/don't do at home... like using TONS of oil and salt, to make things taste good.

Ever been traveling for a week or more? Fast food or fancy restaurant food...it truly does taste the same, esp. because it's mass produced. :(

Once our bodies start getting the fat from fast foods, we crave it. Really, I've read about studies on this sort of thing.
