last year, I tried out not thinking that I would make it and I did make it, try out, the worst thing that can happen is you not make it, but if you don't go up to the coach and nicely ask why you didn't make the team so that you can work on the if you want to try out next year

Try out. If you don't make it, a coach will have seen you and can give you the list of things you need to work on for the next year's tryouts.
So what if you don't make it the first time out. Just remember that Michael Jordan didn't make his high school varsity basketball team his junior year. And this is one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. I always took inspiration from that. If you work hard, and try your best, and listen to your coach, they will take that over a person of all talent that knows they are good any day. The person that knows they are good doesn't grow as a player and doesn't listen to the coaches.
Go for it. Good luck!!

Hmm, Well before sophomore year I was a huge fatty, but I went out for football, lucky for me there were no cuts, but I didn't know if I could physically handle it, but I pushed through and made it and now I can actually play.
Anyways...about volleyball. Supposedly at my school the teams are all fcuked up, like coach plays favs. and only lets players on if they went to suymmer camp, but I only heard that from the people who got cut.
I'd say yea, if you're good go for it. But do know, people who get cut lose major points in the eyes of others, but nobody will say anything about it.

If you love it then the best thing for you to do is try out! Even if you don't make it, it'll be great practice for next year. I know exactly how you feel though. I'm trying out for a v- ball team that I know I won't make, but I just really love the sport, so after I don't make it, I'll just play club.

I say go for it, cuz for instance, when I had to play with the JV and I never played with them before, I was so scared. But as the game went on, I noticed that it was not that bad. And now I`m the point guard for that team. Don`t let your fears overcome you. Believe in yourself and you can do it. You can make the team. Just focus on yourself. Good luck!

take it from me, if you love the game of volleyball and are really good, try out. chances are that the people you try-out against aren't that great. you'll make it, have your friends come with you to pump you up.

If you love it and think you are really good then use that confidence in yourself and go for it. There's absolutely nothing ot loose. It's not like they are going to take away your first born if you don't make the team.
