Anybody familiar with Firefox and Safari for Mac OSX? I'm considering downloading Firefox because I've heard it's faster, but don't know if that's true for just windows users, or mac users too. thanks

Oh thesekeys!
I use Safari sometimes,
FIrefox every day
Camino for certain sites
and Opera from time to time!

don't stop and consider... just do it!!
firefox is 5% more compatible than Safari!

It's not a lot .... but it is faster and better in some cases!!

Firefox is a good web browser but I would have to disagree about it being faster. I personally find Firefox quite sluggish on a Mac so I tend to use Safari for general web surfing and then switch to Firefox or Opera when accessing secure websites.

There is no rule that says you have to stick with one web browser. I would suggest you download a few and see which you prefer.

I wouldn't buy a Mac with anything less than 4GB or RAM and at least a 2.5ghz processor. Just opinion. However, I love my MacBook Pro. Just think if you really NEED a Mac before shedding the big bucks. And Macs CAN get viruses, just not the same kind as Windows. However, if you don't go to dangerous sites often, you don't need to worry about an AV.
