They will probably hurt for @ a week. Then as the other post said....wait til they tighten them once a month. Ohhhhh they u will have pain due to the fact that your teeth are being pulled into position. And u will also experience ulcers and cuts on the insides of your lips. I know it hurts...but it is worth it in the end. Good Luck :)

Take some tylenol. Eat soft foods. I practically lived on tamales! You can get wax to cover the places where the braces make contact with your inner jaws and scratch. Unfortunately, each adjustment brings on more discomfort. You won't be totally comfortable until the braces come off. I had mine when I became an adult and had shifting due to an extraction in my teens. It was worth all the pain! My smile is beautiful. Yours will be too. Hang in there!

It should take about a week max two weeks.. i just got mine in 2 and a half weeks ago.. it took me a week to get used to the sensitive feeling and pain. you will be fine. take some advil or tylenol to take care of the pain. what i did was took medicine before i went to bed because i would wake up feeling pain in my mouth. good luck.

Initially, the first two weeks. After you get adjustments, they only hurt for a few days. Advil completely takes this pain away.

they'll hurt a lot for about a week, so aspirin or other pain relievers help. after about a week, i started to eat bread and semi-soft stuff. after the first month, i think mine stopped hurting completely.

they are supposed to hurt, especially when they tighten them.. that's your teeth shifting, they will hurt until your teeth have finished shifting and they take them off

they hurt for about a week after you get them and then you get them tightened each month and expect them to hurt for about a week after that.
