Ok, going to synagogue on a Friday night is sort of like this. (I mean it varies in different synagogues though, but this is how it is where I go). Firstly they will pray the afternoon prayer (mincha) which is quite short. They might have a little speech after that or maybe just a short break. But then they will start with the evening prayer (maariv). Maariv is usually lead by someone at the altar (the chazan) who 'sings' the beginnings and ends of paragraphs. Then there is the prayer called 'lecha dodi' which will be sung by everyone! The whole service does not last more than an hour usually. There are parts where everybody will stand up-just follow suit;-) Otherwise, I hope you have a good experience! All the best:-)

It really depends on what type of Synagouge you'll be going to. Unless it's reform or Reconstructionist, the service will be conducted in Hebrew. Just look respectful, nod your head, and stand up when the other people stand up. That's how I always got through Synagouge the few times my parents made me go.

Just dont let anyone blindly lead you. Read the Holy Bible for yourself, or you could end up deceived. Especially today when most churches are as Jesus said they would be. False leaders, false christians, etc...deceived christians, deceived leaders, etc.many churches today preach a different Jesus and teach it too.
