Yes, as long as you are still doing your J-1 stuff, too, whatever that was.

It is not uncommon for folks to hold several different US visas for different purposes (our categories go from A to V so far). The only rule is that you can't have more than one of the same type; a less formal rule is that consular officers are instructed to cancel any existing visas that are no longer needed. That is, if you completed your studies in the US early, have a job in your own country and need to make business trips, we will stamp your F-1 visa "Cancelled Without Prejudice" and give you a B1/B2 visa. If you work part-time for your government and consult with embassies in the US, you might also need an A2 visa; if you visit the UN on official business sometimes, you can have a G2 also. And it can go on, too, depending on how complicated your life is.
