For Valentine's Day, my Spanish teacher thought it would be absolutely great if we read a sappy poem in front of the entire school. We each have to write a line, and here's my line:
"Love is to remember your friends and to cherish them, no matter how far apart you may be."
The thing is, I don't know how to translate this. Is this gramatically correct?
"Amor es a remembrar sus amigos y apreciarlos, aunque usted puede lejos aparte."
I'm not sure about the last part of the sentence. Can someone help me please?

Here's a suggestion: Do not translate it from English. Sorry, but the only part that was written correctly appears to be "sus amigos y apreciarlos, aunque usted puede." Think of expressions that you know in Spanish, and see if they can help you with your idea.

It is best not to translate each word directly into Spanish, but be mindful of the mechanics of each language.
Your first phrase:
You might want to use the infinitive or a gerund (to love or loving). In conversational Spanish, it is the same difference: amar
Therefore, "Amar significa recordar a sus amigos y quererlos, a pesar de parecer tan lejanos.
You could also use the subjunctive to express the clause "you may be".

your poem is not exactly gramatically correct...the last part is kindof weird, and it translates easier the way i've done it for you

Well it's pretty goog, but i would change a few things, like: S: ¡Hola! Acabo de volver de vacaciones. A: ¿A dónde fuiste? (it spounds better with the "a", and don´t forget that in spanish we use ¿? before and after the question) S: Fui a un crucero. (the native speakers don't use "yo" for sentences like these) A: ¿Viajaste con tu familia? (again question marks) S: Si. ¿Te gustaría viajar? (according to the anwer it sounds bette "gustaría" or you would have to change the anwer) A: Si. Me gustaría viajar en primera clase. (if you leave the question like you wrote it, the answer would be "Si. Me gusta viajar en primera clase") S: ¿Necesitas un taxi? A: No. Prefiero caminar. ¡Adiós! S: ¡Hasta luego! hope it helps you :)
