i am sure that they do, especially because we witness what seems like a high speed chase between them and some rabbit, and their paws begin to twitch and move in exactly the motion they might have if they were really running!! Then their mouths begin to quiver and a small grunt or growl might slip out of their dreams for us to hear, as if the rabbit has gotten away this time. Perhaps when we witness our dog dreaming, it reminds us of ourselves, especially when our dog seems so human. I usually giggle a bit too loudly, and wake up my sleepy pooch, and that is when I know for sure that these beasts can dream just as we do. As well as get quite annoyed by being awakened.

yes, they do dream.

During the phase of deep sleep referred to as REM (Rapid Eye Movement), people report dreaming experience. In similar sleep stages and brain activity, other animals show parallel experience. Dogs, for instance, are frequently seen to twitch and move paws and legs in movements that clearly resemble running. They may whimper, growl, even bark. It is not possible to know exactly of what they dream, but dream they do.

Absolutely dogs have been studied and experience RPM (Rapid Eye Movement), in there sleep which confirms dogs are following movement. They often bark, twitch and do all sorts of things in there sleep.

It makes you wonder what they dream about though doesn't it? Maybe about catching the pesky cat next door

Yes we see that all the time. They dream about playing, running, sucking on mommy as pups all sorts of things in a simple way. Watch your dog when it sleeps when you see the legs twitching the dog is dreaming.

They absolutley have dreams.

My dog wags her tail in her sleep all the time!

She also sometimes woofs in her sleep.

Once she woke straight from her sleep (she'd been woofing a little). She sat straight up...then ran to the window to look out.

It was so funny cause nothing was going on. She was still in her dream! (Ever heard of a dog sleepwalking before)? LOL...

When she wags her tale in her sleep, I wonder if she's dreaming about being given a whole pizza to eat, or if she's dreaming she's Benji's girlfriend, lol.

Most likely the pizza, though. :)

you may not save her from noisily snoring! evaluate it area of her personality! She is probable dreaming that she is chasing something (on 3 legs) or operating. She sounds tremendous humorous! i imagine canines can dream in colour because canines do see some colour so why would not they be ready to dream that way? you ought to ask your canines at the same time as she wakes up.

must be because my dog starts twitching in his sleep and tries to run. Then he growls. I can get him to bark at me when he's sleeping so YES, DOGS DREAM!
Have a great day!

I think they do because my dog make funny noises when he sleep. He sounds like a fish making bubbling noises. So I think he dreams about being a fish

Of course they do.

My boy is slaying dragons most every night. Really big dragons, because he runs and runs and then he makes lots of muffled little barks and growls and then more running and growling and whining. Yep, he's dreaming in HD
