The bible does not say that. It doesn't even address it directly. You are gonna get some doozies here!!
As a believer, I have struggled with this question for twenty plus years. I was raised a Christian, rebelled as a teen and got really into what we now call classic rock, zeppelin, etc.
When I got serious again about my relationship with Christ, I got rid of all my rock, and basically listened to crappy music put out by mediocre record companies. I then just gave it up.
I now am really enjoying listening to classic rock as my 15 year old son is discovering it. He is so much more grounded than I was at his age.
It all depends on your level of maturity in Christ. If you can listen to some fun music that is not overtly satanic and promiscuous, great. I find I have to find a balance and feed my soul every few days. And you are so lucky to have such better Christian music available today like Creed, Third Day, etc.
This is really a question you have to ask God and listen carefully to the H.S. and not ask a lot of church ladies or you will be more confused than ever!!!

No, it is not wrong. If you feel that listening to Christian music deepens your relationship with God and your spirituality; then go ahead and listen to it. But it's not a sin to listen to secular music.
I went through a period of time when I listened to only Christian music on Sundays, but listened to whatever I wanted during the week. I don't do it anymore, but maybe you'd like to try something similar. Maybe I will start again.

No it's not wrong. You're not going to go to Hell for listening to non-Christian music. A lot of music especially rap and hip-hop are all about sex and money I think it's ok to listen to it as long as you don't follow what they say or live your like the way those songs say you should live your life.

We weren't all made to like the same style of music. What defines "Christian Music" anyway? Christian Rock, Christian Rap, Christian Gospel, Christian classical, and even Christian Metal, Take your pick

I'm a proclaimed christan that listens to metal. I love music, and sounds, but I can never make out the laryics (thenk goodness). Some songs I can, but I dont care much for the words, and I ignore them anyways. I just enjoy the vibrations.
so no. it's cool to listen to whatever you like, just don't take your music too serousley
if you want to take music seriousley, try ambient, 80's pop, classics, folk music and country.

Approaching this logically...it's not wrong to listen to other kinds of music but what kind of music you listen to is what you should consider.
If you proclaim yourself christian and you're listening/singing negative and harmful music that's when you need to be careful.

I think that it depends on what the music says, the lyrics, how it makes you feel, etc. You dont want to listen to filth, screaming , etc. I listen to all kinds of Christian Music. Casting Crowns, Newsboys, jars of clay, stephen curtis chapman, dc talk, etc..........
some baptists have a problem with the new christian music.

No..I know VERY christian people who listen to Gorgoroth, a satanic metal band..
If you think about it, the majority of music, from metal, to rap, to electronic, to rock, to hip-hop, to anything really, is not christian..
I myself, am very athiestic..My favorite band is The Cruxshadows, an Electro-Goth band from Florida that is ALWAYS in Europe (>.>) Back on subject..Theyre music has VERY Christian undertones, but its basically singing of love, emotion, and being a good person - reguardless of belief, and being yourself..I just love the lyrics, I love the way it sounds, and everything about the band, I may not agree totally with their religious beliefs, but does that make it wrong for me to listen to them? I dont think so..
I guess what I'm saying is listen to whatever you like.

NO! actually im christian and go to a christian school and i can't stand most christian music for more than an hour. i like punk rock and hard rock and even marylin manson. you can listen to peoples music without having to believe what the artists believe in or stand for listen to it and enjoy it just dont idolize it and make it into like your moral code or something.
