Okay, so you've figured out that you can't stop someone from smoking....so what can you do? You could educate them about cancer, being broke, losing motivation, social isolation and various other side effects of smoking pot........just try not to be too pushy -- nobody likes a preacher. What else? I know that if I keep myself busy and engage in stimulating activities my desire to get high escapes me.....maybe your friend is the same. One sure way to quit a bad habit is to replace it with a good one. Everytime you wanna get high....go brush your teeth (or take a walk or whatever works for you)

The only person that can stop smoking pot is the person doing it. It works the same with any type of addiction. Unless the person admits they have a substance abuse problem, they will not quit.
If you cannot be involved with this person while they are smoking, walk away for your own good. Good luck and have a good night.

It's just like with smoking cigarettes or being an Alcoholic. Either they stop cold turkey or get help. There is plenty of help out there, talk to a Doctor or Rehab clinic.

It's up to the person if he wants to or doesn't want to quit, there's no excuses, you deserve better, but if you really care, just be a good supporting friend, and if he truly cares about he'll want to consider quitting and demonstrate it one day at a time

One thing I've learned over the years is that you really can't get anyone to stop doing something they don't want to. Either you will have to accept it or choose not have a relationship with that person. But you will not be able to force/change them.

I'm sure, by now, he resents your nagging and interference in his life. Why don't you go away and leave him alone, you're not the Administrator of his morality. Excuses like; "for his sake", "only trying to help", are self excuses for people who won't mind their own business.

Wait until they want to stop. If they don't want to you can't make them. They'll get out of rehab and go right back to it.
