Will this hurt her ear more or do anything else?

NOOOO. I really wouldn't do that if I were you. Being that high up in the sky messes with your ears enough, it may cause her more pain and you don't want that to happen. Your ears automatically pop when your elevated so high like that, imagine having an ear infection and your ears popping every 10 minutes? I'm 23, and a couple years ago, I had 6 ear infections one after another. It was horrible and sooooo painful. And every time my ears popped, even just driving around, it killed my ear. I don't know how a child could handle it...

I wouldn't do it. I had an ear infection and flew and it hurt so bad I could hardly stand it. Went to the Dr and had blood behind my ears, not good, could go deaf from it. Please don't fly with her, it will hurt her really bad. Sorry but the pressure is bad enough then you add an ear infection on top of it and it will be even worse. I say no to flying.

Not with an ear infection. It will be excruciating for her!

Go to the doctor and get her some medication. Most likely, if your trip is a week away or more, the ear infection will be gone with the medicine by then.

Most doctors only prescribe antibiotics for ear infections, but since my daughter had nearly continuous ear infections he prescribed me some drops that alleviated her pain immediately. If she is already on antibiotics see if your doctor will prescribe you some drops they are relatively inexpensive, they will insure that the pressure change will not cause her pain, and they are always nice to have around anyway since ear infection pain usually begins in the middle of the night long after your doctors office is closed.

I wouldn't; the ear infection is already hurting her and on top of that, adding the pressure changes and stress of flying? She would be crying the whole entire flight.

I wouldn't until the infection cleared up. Getting a little tyke's inner ear to equilibrium can be painful enough without the ear infection.

She's probably going to cry the whole way there because of the pressure PLUS the ear infection.

She needs some ear drops. If she keeps having ear infections she might need tubes in her ears.

Don't fly unless you give her medicine. My doctor told me to give the kids Benedryl 1/2 hour before flight. As for her ears, try ear drops called Similasan. They are for all ages.

I would not until she gets better. The pressure is going to cause her a lot of pain because of the altitude. She will be screaming the whole time. If you must make sure that she is sucking on something during take off and landing.
